Fill ‘Er Up: Using Metaphor to Build a Mental Bridge [video]

by Jesse Lahey on December 4, 2013

“If you want to build impact, learn and practice to understand metaphors. Learn how to build mental bridges between something that’s hard to understand to something that’s a lot easier to understand.”
~ The Impact Equation, by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith

Most employee communications about 401(k) and retirement savings are long and boring. So people forget the point. Worse, they don’t take action. According to the 2013 Retirement Confidence Survey by the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), less than half of American workers appear to be taking the basic steps needed to prepare for retirement.

This video uses metaphor, brevity, and a little humor to make a single, memorable point that motivates people to take action.

We can customize this video to display an employer’s logo/graphics, website, and help-desk number. If your organization would benefit from this video or other employee communications, please contact me. We would love to help!
