Using the Story Pyramid to Plan Gamification Elements [video]

Gamification is the use of game-inspired tactics to engage people. If you decide to use gamification to engage people, you need to make some thoughtful decisions about the elements you will design into the gamified application. This “story pyramid” shows the hierarchy of elements at your disposal. The bottom of the pyramid is concrete, so it’s a tempting place to start. But it’s a strategic necessity to start at the top of the pyramid and ask yourself, “What kind of story do I want to tell?”
